Throughout her acting career that’s lasted for more than 20 years, Nia Long has been sort of an obsession for prominent figures in the Hip Hop industry. Not only is it her perpetual beauty, but her roles in iconic movies like Boyz n the Hood and Friday have solidified her spot in Hip Hop history and Black culture.

On Friday (December 13), the 49-year-old took to Instagram decked out in a crewneck plastered with Nas’ 2007 XXL cover, amassing several thousand likes a pop. Long posted not one or two, but three consecutive photos rocking the sweater featuring the Illmatic legend.

“Still ill,” read the caption of one of the posts.

And of course, Nasty Nas himself took notice in the comments section. “U da illest!” replied Nas.

This isn’t the only time Nas and Long have been intertwined. On Nas’ 2001 track “Oochie Wally,” Horse of Bravehearts raps, “Like Nia Long in a cherry thong with the lights on.” And in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel in 2016, Long even admitted that she actually went out and purchased a cherry thong after first hearing that line.

The popular actress has also been name dropped in songs by rappers like JAY-Z, Missy Elliott, J. Cole and more.
