Trina is mourning the death of her mother Vernessa “Nessa” Taylor who passed away on Tuesday (September 3). According to TMZ, Taylor died following a battle with an unspecified type of cancer. She was 62.
A rep for Trina’s team has asked for privacy while the family mourns.
“Thank you all for your kind words and condolences regarding Trina’s mother,” the rep said. “It truly gives the family some peace and comfort knowing that Nessa lived such a fulfilling life filled with love and abundance.”
Trina’s team reportedly called Taylor “the rock” that shaped her daughter into the “strong, successful woman” she’s become.

She was also described as “a pillar” in her community, advocating for self-love, confidence and perseverance among all women.
Judging by an Instagram post, Trina’s mother has been sick for some time.
