Compton, CA – Drakeo The Ruler’s legal woes are far from over despite being acquitted of murder and attempted murder in July. According to The FADER, the Los Angeles County District Attorney has refiled criminal gang conspiracy and shooting from a motor vehicle charges against the West Coast rapper.

Earlier this summer, a jury acquitted Drakeo of murder in the shooting death of 24-year-old Davion Gregory. But jurors couldn’t reach a verdict on the other two counts against him, opening the door for the D.A. to refile the charges.

A new trial is expected to begin in late fall or early winter. If convicted, Drakeo could be sentenced to life in prison.

“NIGGAS BE REALLY PRAYING FOR A NIGGA DOWNFALL, THAT SHIT CRAZY,” he wrote. “182.5 IF UDK WHAT PENAL CODE THAT IS, LOOK IT UP. APPARENTLY, THIS IS A WAY THAT THEY CAN CHARGE ME WIT THE SAME CRIME I JUST GOT ACQUITTED OF LAST MONTH.”

He continued, “I UNDERSTAND YALL TRYNA MAKE THE VICTIM FAMILY FEEL LIKE YALL DOING JUSTICE FOR EM, BUT I JUST GOT ACQUITTED OF THE CHARGES! BUT GOD GOT THE LAST SAY SO, WE KNOW THE TRUTH … THEY LITERALLY GAVE EVERYBODY THAT WAS SUPPOSED TO GO TO TRIAL AFTER ME DEALS JUST SO THEY RETRY TWO HUNG COUNTS ON MY CASE.”
