Drakeo The Ruler has beat a murder charge. According to The Fader, the Los Angeles-based rapper was acquitted of murder and attempted murder at a Compton Courthouse on Thursday (July 25).
Drakeo, whose real name is Darrell Caldwell, was accused of murdering 24-year-old Davion Gregory at a party in December 2016. The Cali artist reacted to his acquittal via Twitter.
“FOR ALL U BITCH ASS NIGGAS THAT THOUGHT I WAS GON LOSE, I WON BITCH,” he wrote.
The West Coast rhymer isn’t completely in the clear though. The jury was reportedly hung on a criminal street gang conspiracy charge, and the District Attorney could choose to refile it on August 1. He was also found guilty of gun possession by a felon but will likely be credited with time served for the sentence.

Drakeo’s co-defendants weren’t as fortunate as him. His brother Ralfy The Plug could spend the next 10 years in prison after being convicted of second-degree commercial burglary and possession of an assault rifle with a gang enhancement.
Mikell Buchanan, another man involved in the case, was convicted of murder and attempted murder with a gang enhancement. He is facing life without parole.
