Kanye West surprised Dayton, Ohio with a special edition of Sunday Service in the wake of the mass shooting that left nine dead and 27 injured earlier this month.
West was accompanied by his wife Kim Kardashian and their children at Sunday’s event (August 25). Dave Chappelle and Chris Rock were also in attendance, as well as a large local crowd at the RiverScape MetoPark.
“We’ve been through a tough time,” Chappelle told the crowd. “There’s been tornados, there’s been Klan rallies, there’s been shooting, but we’re still here, we’re still strong. The best way to honor our fallen is getting up better than we were before.”
West and Chappelle met up Saturday (August 24) to celebrate Chappelle’s 46th birthday, where Kanye and a crowd serenaded Chappelle with a Stevie Wonder-version of “Happy Birthday.”
Chappelle is also holding his Gem City Shine benefit concert in Dayton on Sunday. The comedian lives in nearby Yellow Springs.

No show in Chicago?
More people are killed there a year than in all US mass shootings combined. Oh wait, they’re trying to ban assault weapons, not disenfranchised young black youth. Maybe next year…
It’s not a positivity-contest my man. All god is good, wherever and whenever. All good is godly, however and why’ever.
For sure. They should do a benifit concert for the 10 homicides that occur in Japan a year, when Kanye is from Chi. All good is good right? Fucking idiot.
lol what?
All GOD is good, you miss quoted me. Be less emo my brother from a rubber glover. Praise Jesus
2,996 people would disagree with you, if they were still alive. You know, the people who died on 9-11. They were killed due to “god.” Anywhere between 30,000 and 300,000 people died in the Spanish Inquisition died. Also for “god.” So NO, all “god” isn’t good.
All Kanye’s done for Chicago is give garbage ass Chief Kieth a platform to spread his ignorance and promote violence among the youth
Lil nas X is truly one of the dopest rappers out there. The old town road song is better than any of old nas’s and garth brook songs out there.
I live in Cincinnati and Dayton is 30 minutes from me thank you Konya for supporting Dayton and supporting Ohio we all appreciate you
