Offset Shares Emotional Reunion With Estranged Father Of 23 Years

Offset shared an emotional event in his life with his 11.9 million Instagram followers. On Friday (April 26), the Migos rap star uploaded a video of himself reuniting with his father, who he hasn’t seen in 23 years. Judging by the tears in both of their eyes, the meeting was long overdue.

In the caption, Offset made it clear whatever happened between them to cause the rift is old news.

“DREAMS DO COME TRUE HAVENT SEEN MY FATHER IN 23 YEARS !!!!!!” he captioned the video. “AND I STILL LOVE HIM THE PAST IS THE PAST AND THE PRESENT IS ALL WE HAVE TO RELY ON WE NOT PERFECT IN ANY SHAPE OR FORM I LOVE YOU POPS !!! NO MATTER WHAT!!!!”

In an interview with The Breakfast Club, Offset revealed he hadn’t seen his father since he was 4 years old and was down for a reconciliation. It may explain why he takes his role as a father of four so seriously. His inaugural solo album, the aptly titled Father Of 4, revolves around his parental role.

“This album means the world to me took my time with the project,” he tweeted in February. “Take your time listening very special stories within the song. Every record has a piece of content within the song even a trap vibe all true story telling, it was rough to get to this point I’m at in life NO CAP!”

        1. He probably means that black people make poor life decisions, yet continue to blame others for the misfortune their own choices bring them. Where would he ever get that idea?

          1. That still doesn’t answer the question about his (and your) obsession with us and our culture…if u all “befuddled” (I used that word for both of u goofs), go find content that you feel matches your misguided sense of superiority…

            1. It’s funny you consider fatherless children a part of your “culture” that has no room for judgment, but you complain about white people all day

            2. Dr. Cox, with that kind of logic, I’m not gonna bother you…I’m gonna assume you’re a fifth grade caucasian boy in a segregated community…you’re excused…

            3. It’s your logic though. You said not having a father in the home is part of your “culture”. That’s a joke my friend

            4. As someone who works with families daily I couldn’t help but laugh at these misguided comments. There is far more white fathers missing from the home and of the fathers who are not at home, white fathers spend 20% less time with their child. That’s the facts and the only way you can land on any other conclusion is simply racist, weird and ignorant.

            5. @Picasso Micheaux realest post on this thread jack. Because they truly want to be like us, that’s why.

            6. Your argument that our concern is invalid assumes the negative effects of the black community don’t have any impact on others. Sorry bruh, but blacks commit exponentially more violent crime against other blacks, and all other demographics for that matter. That’s probably why people like to make fun of you. Cuz of your inferiority complex. And the lack of responsibility you take for your actions. Y u so befuddled about that?

            7. N!%%@, I ain’t say nothing about your “concern”…first of all y’all ain’t concerned…that word infers emotions that dont apply to your reasons for coming to this site…Lets be clear, y’all a bunch of miserable haters…Bih, you (and everybody like you) got a weird fascination, some kinda love/hate relationship with us…holla back when u got a bunch of us trolling a Celtic music or a polka or a country music site…dats y’all $#!t over there…

            8. People shouldn’t be concerned that a culture can have negative real-world consequences? I mean…. considering you make up 13% of the population yet commit 50% of the murder in the US (source: FBI crime statistics)…. 40% of households are on welfare (source: US Census), and over 70% of kids are born out of wedlock (source: your boy Don Lemon)- I would say people have valid reason to be concerned. White privilege I guess… except, those pesky Asians mess that whole narrative up. Koreans, Japanese, Chinese, and Indian Americans all earn more money than whites. Wouldn’t a white supremacist culture stop that from happening? Maybe…. it’s because…. they have discipline. Family values. And don’t blame others for their lot in life. Imagine that!

            9. Now give me the race that was denied a fair educational oppurtunities..fair housing…fair selection on loans…its easy to talk when u neglect the past a lot that has contributed to the present….were native Indians causing problems? Where’s their population now ? Where their culture now? Are blacks who dont live in the hood killing each other? Let’s put u in the hood and see what u are likely to do. Stop acting like u smart u not u are trying to generalize people, cause there are lots of blacks who dont live in the hood who are doing great but u only use people who.live in the hood cause deep down that just how u like to see us poor and marginalized an u think u got a slick reason why it’s this way. Who ever u are jus know u are full of shit .

            10. You can only point to history for so long before the excuses grow tired. It’s been sixty years since the civil rights movement. There are ZERO laws that exist to benefit whites and not blacks. Many different minorities who were oppressed in this country in the past are thriving today. Of course some black people today are doing well. Why don’t they motivate others to do the same?

    1. Gayest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. Black guys stop abandoning your children. If Offset didn’t become a millionaire that bum would’ve never came back into his sons life.

    2. So what his Pops up when he’s Rich he forgave him he suppose to act Cold hearted fk know. Grown Man move

    3. This message ain’t for Vivs…its for Culturally Appropriate…scroll down a bit…there are many goofs below…

    4. He should change his album title from “Father of 4” to “Father Has Been Missing Since the Age of 4”.

      1. It goes all the way back to slavery. It gets real deep. Go learn your history.

Glad to see them make peace and become cool with each other.
