Nipsey Hussle’s Bodyguard Calls It Quits

Nipsey Hussle’s bodyguard J Roc is stepping away from the profession following the death of his friend. The now-former bodyguard announced his retirement in an Instagram post mourning the loss of Nipsey on Tuesday (April 2).

“I got the Babies and L forever I’m done with all this Shit,” he wrote. “I retire from being a bodyguard I love you HUSSLE THA GREAT.”

Questions revolving around Nipsey’s security were reportedly answered on Wednesday (April 3) when TMZ revealed the Victory Lap rapper made an impromptu trip to his Marathon Clothing store to assist a recently released inmate.

J Roc’s heartache was evident in his social media eulogy. He also wished he could switch places with Nipsey.

“Never in a million years I thought I would be writing some shit like this,” he wrote. “we haven’t made a 100 Million yet … we was suppose to grow old and I call u big nose shoot jokes on you all day… but instead I’m here in tears writing this.

“I wish I was there I would switch places with you any day the world need you here I’m so confused , lost , hurt I lost a brother , best friend, a mentor all I can here you saying now is If it was me, I would tell you, ‘Nigga, live your life and grow” I’d tell you, ‘Finish what we started, reach them heights, you know? And gas the V-12 to the pipe and smoke’ but it sounds way easier then done.”

J Roc is one of the many people who’ve detailed their grief on social media following Nipsey’s death. Lauren London, the late artist’s girlfriend, broke her silence on Tuesday.

“I am completely lost,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’ve lost my best friend. My sanctuary. My protector. My soul…. I’m lost without you. We are lost without you babe. I have no words.”

Nipsey was shot and killed in his hometown of Los Angeles on Sunday (March 31). Eric Holder, the 29-year-old man suspected of killing the beloved rapper, was arrested by police on Tuesday afternoon.

    1. Family is more important than this gang life. Real G’s would face the face and know you can’t bail out now. This gang life comes before any woman or child. These G’s today do have any heart. Come to my hood and you’ll grow in strength and cash flow. Loyal to game always. If my body quit after I passed away I know the streets would suspect something going down.
Stay True, No snitching and always look out for family.
RIP- Lil Devil 666click and RIH to the King Nipsey!! Going to miss you my Brother!

    2. Starts off with I would switch with you. End with I got my kids. You wanna put your kids through that fam? Why do we mourn on social media?

    3. I live by ‘Anything worth having is hard to get and the only things that come easy is quitting and trouble’. I say that to say I never quit on anything. But I can’t imagine having to live with the guilt (per se…although what happened is not your fault) of what happened given your role in Nipsey’s life. This is why I believe all of this could’ve been avoided. Had Nipsey made the proper calls or had on a vest, not saying those things would’ve stopped anything from happening but it would’ve given him more of a percentage of surviving versus 0%. I’m in no way judging Nipsey or this man for the decisions that’s been made. The bodyguard feels he can’t go on and I completely understand his position. I hope he finds strength to hold it together and carry on what Nipsey started.

    4. The ghetto fabulous thug wasn’t s h it without his body guards. That’s how tough these studio gangsters are lol! Spitting all kinds of bu ll s. Hit about the streets while they hide behind huge armed guards. Remove them and they get smoked.

      1. I feel ya and agree with you 110% my G. Rappers today don’t have the street and strength to pull up. Be studio gets you no where in these streets.

        1. Y’all are cute.. y’all should be together. This man got ran up on and shot. Anyone, gangster or not can go out like that. Yal over doing it with this thug stuff. And all this laughing trying to prove a point thing is pathetic. Somone lost their life. Yal losers lack respect.

      2. You know Nipsey did not have a gun on him to protect himself. You know the coward ran up and shot him over bs. Sit your azz down!!!

    5. Nip should’ve gave that brother 500 dollars and said to him” word on the street ya playing bad pool and that’s not cool”. That dude would’ve known right then and there Nip is not down with that Being a Rat shit but he gonna take this cash and stay away from Nip because Nip not gonna wanna be rapped up with any fucked up individuals.

      1. This was probably the most street smart solution to this madness. It definitely a certain way of going about this
