Dave East has landed a starring role in Hulu’s upcoming series Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga. According to Deadline, East has joined the television drama as a series regular.

The Def Jam artist will play Shotgun (a.k.a. Method Man). The real-life Meth is serving as one of the executive producers along with fellow Wu-Tang member RZA.

“Tall, with a knack for rhymes, Shotgun takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty,” reads the character description. “A popular figure in Staten Island, he stays above the turf wars.”

Ashton Sanders, best known for his role in the Academy Award-winning film Moonlight, was previously cast as Bobby Diggs (a.k.a. RZA). Siddiq Saunderson was also announced as playing Dennis “D-Love” Coles (a.k.a. Ghostface Killah).

Wu-Tang Clan: An American Saga was created by RZA and Alex Tse, who wrote the script for 2018’s Superfly remake. GZA, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, Masta Killa and the Estate of Ol’ Dirty Bastard are serving as consulting producers on the series.
