Cardi B, Killer Mike, Offset, Meek Mill & More Support 21 Savage Following ICE Arrest

The rap community is rallying around 21 Savage after he was arrested by ICE on Sunday morning (February 3). The 26-year-old Atlanta resident is allegedly from the U.K. and has been in the United States illegally for the past 13 years.

21 was riding around with fellow rapper Young Nudy and two other men when they were pulled over. Although Nudy was law enforcement’s original target, once APD officers ran 21’s government name – Sha Yaa Bin Abraham-Joseph — he was placed into custody.

According to a statement from ICE, “Mr. Abraham-Joseph initially entered the U.S. legally in July 2005, but subsequently failed to depart under the terms of his nonimmigrant visa and he became unlawfully present in the U.S. when his visa expired in July 2006.

“In addition to being in violation of federal immigration law, Mr. Abraham-Joseph was convicted on felony drug charges in October 2014 in Fulton County, Georgia.”

The I Am > I Was artist is currently facing deportation. Despite the serious nature of the situation, social media has turned 21 into a giant meme.

Killer Mike, Cardi B, Meek Mill, Offset, Nicki Minaj, Vince Staples and Swizz Beatz are just a few of the many artists who have come to 21’s defense. [apple_news_ad type=”any”]

    1. Bunch of idiots feeling sorry for an idiot lol It was clearly his fault. His Visa expired. He’s an adult and should have taken care of it so things like this wouldn’t happen.

    2. This is one of the main reasons why our culture is so f up. Their are people out there that aren’t famous that could use all these people support for real. But they supporting a dummy that brought all this stuff on himself. I’m pretty logical and a fair person but if dude gets deported and can never come back I wouldn’t feel sorry for him.

      1. Thats some real talk people act high mighty and and show fake temporary support to a cause depending on the person none of these fools in it for the long haul

      2. Your kidding, right?
He was TWELVE years old, when his mamma decided to overstay the Visa.
From this point he was illegal.
How the fuck did he bring this on himself?

    3. The law applies to everyone. Fuck he need prayers for? He got more money than all of us in the comments and live good in UK. He’ll simply get deported. He really fucked up by having a felony in the US. No chance of another visa. See what happened to Shyne.

      1. THANK YOU!!!! People were talking about his kids and stuff, and I’m like “He’ll be rich in the U.K. TOO!” In fact, he’ll probably become the biggest star in the U.K

    4. The law is the law. Just because he dropped a mature album recently, has a big fanbase, and has been doing good for the community, doesn’t equal a permanent visa, or clear an illegal immigrant of wrongdoing. If a foreign pregnant refugee did the same thing, ICE would also deport that woman. 21 Savage, if from the UK, hardly came from War-torn Syria. There are no exceptions in the realm of hip-hop. Hip-hop needs to grow up, but because it’s often led by young, immature, charismatic kids in their early 20’s, it lacks the capacity to understand what is applied to all humans in the immigration process. The guy is rich and talented, and will survive wherever he dwells via his music, so give your pity to someone who needs it.

    5. He stood by the clown who killed bankroll fuck his bitch ass hope he’s never allowed back fuck boy karma is a mtf

    6. All you high and mighty folks, (no pun intended) talking this “the law is the law” crap as if they’ve never broken any laws- remember that! I can tell some of y’all are the decedents of those who separated black families during slavery by the level of insensitivity in your post.
