Tekashi 6ix9ine entered a plea in his federal racketeering case at a hearing on Monday morning (November 26). According to TMZ, the controversial artist pleaded not guilty to all charges, including using or carrying a firearm during and in relation to, or possessing a firearm in furtherance of, a crime of violence, which was discharged.
The subject of bail wasn’t addressed, but a judge has set his trial date for September 4, 2019. 6ix9ine is expected to remain behind bars at least until then, although his attorney Lance Lazzaro plans to apply for bail directly to the trial judge overseeing the case.
6ix9ine was initially denied bail, even after Lazzaro offered the court $750,000 and promised 6ix9ine would fork over his passport while remaining on house arrest.
The Brooklyn native was arrested on November 17 along with his ex-manager Kifano “Shotti” Jordan, Jensel “Ish” Butler, Fuguan “Fu Banga” Lovick and Faheem “Crippy” Walter. They are labeled as members of the Nine Trey Bloods gang and stand accused of multiple charges ranging from drug dealing to robberies.
