Legendary Memphis rap duo 8Ball & MJG were inducted into the Memphis Hall of Fame earlier this month. Their induction marks the second Hip Hop act in the Memphis Hall of Fame’s history to collect the honor.
8Ball took to Instagram to express his gratitude, which included a special shout out to Three 6 Mafia who was inducted in 2012.
“Got inducted into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame last night!” he wrote. “Such a great blessing and pleasure to be honored in royal company like Aretha Franklin, George Klein and Eddie Floyd to name a few! And shoot out to the FIRST inductees that represented the Memphis music community 3-6 Mafia! Thank you Memphis.”
The duo emerged in 1993 with their inaugural studio album, Comin’ Out Hard. Their last collaborative project and eighth effort, Ten Toes Down, was released in 2010.
