Lauryn Hill may be in hot water with American Express but evidently she was victorious in at least one court case. According to Bossip, the former Fugee was awarded $65,000 in a case against her cousin Gerald Hill.

Court papers reportedly state the singer loaned her family member the money and he assured her he’d pay her back. As part of the original deal, Lauryn wrote up a contract for her cousin and gave him three months to pay her back without interest.

When an attempt to collect failed, Lauryn decided to sue him in June. Last week, a judge found Gerald guilty by default. In addition to the $65,000, he must also cough up interest and money damages for the losses she incurred.
