Jay Rock has challenged school marching bands to show off their skills in arranging two of his biggest singles. The Top Dawg Entertainment artist is offering $10,000 to the band that can make the best arrangements of “WIN” and “King’s Dead.”
Rock issued the challenge across social media on Tuesday (August 28) and specifically called out Southern University’s acclaimed marching band, who are known as The Human Jukebox.
“I Got 10 Bands For The School Marching Band That Creates The Dopest Arrangement To My Hit Singles “WIN” & “King’s Dead” !!” he wrote. “Who Down For The Challenge?? Definitely Gotta See What What Y’all Got @su_humanjukebox #TDE #Jayrock10kChallenge.”
Rock says he will donate $10,000 to the winning school’s music program. Further details on the contest are scarce with no additional information provided on JayRockWin.com, the website that contestants have been directed to visit.

Both tracks that bands will be creating arrangements for come from Rock’s latest album, Redemption. “King’s Dead” is also featured on the Black Panther soundtrack, which was curated by Rock’s TDE labelmate Kendrick Lamar.
The West Coast rhymer recently spoke to HipHopDX about how much he enjoyed creating the video for “King’s Dead,” which features K. Dot, Future and James Blake.
“Overall, I gotta say ‘King’s Dead,’” Rock explained when asked about his best visual. “It was real fun [to shoot]. Just being up in a palm tree was something different. I ain’t never seen anyone do anything like that before. I enjoyed myself and had fun. That’s what it’s all about; having fun with this while you can.”
