This coming Saturday (August 11), it’ll be a kick, push bonanza when adidas Skateboarding and Journeys launch “Destination San Diego,” an immersive music experience inspired by the culture of action sports and powered by the sounds of Hip Hop.
The likes of Jay Rock, Famous Dex, adidas team rider Na-kel Smith and Cozy Boyz of the A$AP Mob will all perform at Horton Plaza Park as fans will be able to enjoy the ambiance of beer gardens, and custom merchandise stations manned by acclaimed artist Bonethrower, who will have the steamroller press on the deck.
DJ Mo Beatz and DJ Osh Kosh will also provide turntablist magic throughout the event. We did mention it was free, correct?
“Teaming up with Journeys on an immersive cultural event like ‘Destination San Diego’ allows adidas to bring the excitement of the brand and the creativity of our partners in the music and art space to a much wider audience,” Cullen Poythress of adidas Skateboarding says of the upcoming event. “We hope to build this event into a traveling annual series for action sports-inspired communities across the country over the next few years.”

Kari Irons, SVP Marketing, The Journeys Group, had equal sentiments saying, “Music, art, action sports and youth culture have always been integral to Journeys’ DNA. Through our ongoing partnership with adidas Skateboarding, we’re excited to have these themes converge in downtown San Diego, with the ‘Destination San Diego’ event. And in true Journeys fashion, this is only the beginning – we look forward to growing this property across key cities in the United States for years to come.”
The “Destination San Diego” festivities will run from August 11 from 12:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. PST. Fans in the San Diego area can easily RSVP right here.
