Kodak Black was released from a Broward County jail on Saturday (August 18), according to ABC10.
Black, who legally changed his name to Bill K. Kapri and earned his high school equivalency diploma while incarcerated, spent seven months at the main jail. He was originally scheduled for an October release, but evidently got out a couple of months early.
The 21-year-old reportedly drove away in a black Bentley Bentayga sport utility vehicle with a temporary paper plate. His first stop was his mother’s house where he went to see his son.
Black was arrested in January after an Instagram video showed weed close to his child. After police searched his Pembroke Pines home, he was arrested and charged with charged with child neglect, grand theft of a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and marijuana possession.
In February, the child neglect and grand theft of a firearm charges were dropped, although he pleaded not guilty to possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and marijuana possession.
