Opening with the song “Find Me,” Buddy’s new collaborative EP with producer Kaytranada,Ocean & Montana, quickly piques the listener’s interest with its infectious hook, “Lost and alone/ Come find me.” Paired with the Canadian producer’s sonically diverse production, the five-track project is packed with the Compton rapper’s simple observations on his everyday life — weed, girls and music.
Signed to Pharrell’s label i am OTHER, Buddy has worked with everyone from Asher Roth and Chuck Inglish to BJ The Chicago Kid and Snoop Dogg. One of his most recent offerings, 2016’s “Shine,” featured a cameo from Nipsey Hussle, who featured Buddy on his own “Status Symbol 2” the same year.
