Chance The Rapper’s Birthday Party Will Be “Better Than Any Festival That Ever Existed”

In honor of his impending 24th birthday, Chance The Rapper is throwing a special “Chance The Birthday” party in the form of something his manager promises will be “better than any festival that ever existed.” The night is booked for this Sunday (April 16) at Chicago’s Paris Studio. Although the flier says the event is “featuring special guests,” none of those guests have actually been announced.

All proceeds are being donated to SocialWorks, a non-profit organization co-founded by Lil Chano that aims to “empower the youth through the arts, education and civic engagement,” according to its website.

“Chance The Birthday” follows last week’s Magnificent Coloring World 2 event, which was an invitation-only, top-secret performance only open to the 0.001 percent of Chance’s top fans on SoundCloud who were from the Chicago area. Speculation is swirling the show might end up on Netflix, but until then, fans can look forward to celebrating another revolution around the sun with their favorite rapper this weekend.

Tickets are going for $100 (for both male and female guests) and VIP tables are available for $2,500. See more details here.

    1. Chance is super talented and a great performer, but I sometimes feel like the media props him up MORE because he’s more acceptable to mainstream white America and doesn’t send across a negative message. I’m from Chicago and I know more white and Asian (ages 18-35) friends that love Chance a LOT more than black friends.

      1. If that’s the case, is it not a good thing the media is, for once, soluting and giving attention towards positivity. Plus it’s not like he’s talking fluffy nonsense, he’s truly trying to find the root problem, right?

        1. Yeah, I don’t really mind since I like him. I’d rather have Chicago embrace Chance than when the spotlight was on drill music. Only thing is some of the hype feels, I dunno, fabricated. He’s not the first, he’s not the last, I suppose that’s the nature of entertainment.

    2. I used to like Chance very much… but all these news articles dealing with charity donations keep coming up, and then you have more articles like this one that make Chance seem like an elitist scumbag. I don’t know, I still like the guys music, but the more I see his name in news articles, the more uneasy I feel.
