Eminem is putting on for his hometown by partnering with Detroit’s own StockX, the “Stock Market of Things.” Marshall Mathers and his manager, Paul Rosenberg, are investing in the company.
The platform is a resource to rate the value of limited edition products, including shoes. The company will authenticate every piece of merchandise on its website and provide a secure marketplace for buyers and sellers to reach an agreement on prices of products based on their real-time worth. In its partnership with Slim Shady, StockX is holding a giveaway for a pair of Eminem’s Carhart Jordan 4 sneakers.
“Sneakers have always been a huge interest of mine, for at least as long as I’ve been rapping, and I’m proud of the fact that I’ve had so many collaborations with Nike and Jordan Brand,” Eminem says in a press release. “I really like the fact that sneakers are a big part of what StockX is doing. When I found out that they happen to be doing it from downtown Detroit, it made even more sense to get involved.”
StockX was founded in February by Josh Luber and Dan Gilbert, who is majority owner of the Cleveland Cavaliers. The team is currently playing in the NBA Finals.

Luber, CEO of the company, expresses excitement in having Eminem join the team as other high-profile investors prepare to commit to StockX.
“StockX is already proving that a ‘stock market of things’ is a viable and better way to both buy and sell certain product categories,” he says. “Eminem’s partnership is particularly meaningful in that he’s a true sneakerhead who genuinely understands the market and is excited to help grow the community. Beyond that, he’s created one of the worlds’ iconic brands, so it’s an honor to have him and Paul as both investors and strategic partners.”
To win the Eminem Carhart Jordan 4 sneakers, valued at $30,000, contestants can buy or sell shoes through StockX or refer friends to the site. The runner-up receives a prize package of three Yeezy shoes and third place gets a package of five Jordan 1 shoes.
