A$AP Rocky Talks Ghostwriting

A$AP Rocky says that he doesn’t think the public cares if rappers write their own rhymes, but he cares.

“I come from an old school aesthetic,” A$AP Rocky says to MTV, “me being 26, coming from the point of, when I was coming up, it was all about writing your rhymes.”

When asked about the battle between Drake and Meek Mill, Rocky chooses a winner.

“I think that at the end of the day, there had to be a loser in the outcome,” he says, “and it was Meek.”

He says that the Philadelphia rapper‘s fanbase is strong enough to carry his career forward and the entire beef is entertaining.

“Watching this was like watching the Super Bowl,” he says. “I wanna say thank you to Drake and Meek Mill, because that’s good sportsmanship.”

    1. If you don’t write you own material, you aren’t Hip-Hop..plain and simple. You can still be considered the best Pop artist tho, so there’s still hope for those who don’t write!

      1. Throughout Hip Hop history there have been ghost writers….

Sugarhill Gang’s lyrics where written by Grandmaster Caz and stolen…

Roxanne Shante and Biz Markie had Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap

        Lil Kim had BIGGIE

Whole load of wack folks had Mad Skills Write for them…

I think Jay Z wrote Rick Ross’s lyrics on Freemason. Listen to it..Almost certain…

Jay Z wrote for Dr Dre…

The list goes on and some of those involved ARE very Hip Hop..

        Zz.

      2. This Rico nigga always bringing up Jay-Z whenever someone disses Drake. Did he steal Beyonce from you or something?

    2. Hov vs. Nas felt more like watching a real Super Bowl. Drake vs. Meek is more like watching the Super Bowl of touch football.
