Thanks to the #DrakeNoticeJamal hashtag, Toronto, Canada musician Drake was recently made aware of the passing of one of his biggest fans.
Upon receiving word of the fan, 17-year-old Jamal Utton’s death, Drake posted a tribute to Utton on his Instagram profile. In addition to posting a picture of Utton, Drake left the following message:
“Heard this young man was a big fan. Rest In Peace Jamal. Watch over me from way up above!”
The picture has received 188,000 likes and has also garnered almost 6,000 comments. A number of the comments feature thanks yous to the singer/rapper.

“Still crazy this happened, social media is so powerful! Nothing but love to anyone who supported and took part in this,” one Instagram user wrote in a caption to Drake’s post.
Following Drake’s Instagram post, several fans have instead adopted the #DrakeNoticedJamal hashtag on social media.
According to HotNewHipHop.com, Utton passed away unexpectedly during a rugby tour in Canada last week.
