Gucci Mane does not have a release date from prison despite social media rumors.
The rapper’s lawyer, Drew Findling, spoke with MTV and says that the social media rumors that Gucci will be released on July 11 are false.
“We have no idea where that release date came from because we’re still in the midst of resolving things with the Bureau of Prisons,” Findling says. “There was some confusion on their part, about his release date.”
Gucci was granted one year off of his term for the 11 months time in between his arrest and hearing, which scheduled him for a December 2016 release date.

Findling says that he is continuing to work with the government to get his client out of prison.
“I can’t get into specifics, but we’re in the midst of corresponding with the Bureau of Prisons,” he says. “I’m trying to iron out a specific release date for him, but that I can tell you that is not his release date.”
In 2013, the rapper was charged with two counts of possessing a firearm as a felon, with a maximum sentence of 20 years.
