Last week, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Jimmy Carlton Winfrey for his alleged involvement in the shooting of Lil Wayne’s tour bus outside of Atlanta’s Compound nightclub in April.

The warrant issued by Cobb County, Georgia police revealed that Winfrey engaged in the violent act “in order to gain status in his criminal organization by committing a high profile shooting of a rival rap artist.”

Yesterday (June 2), Winfrey, 25, turned himself into police custody, according to the Atlanta Journal Constitution. He is facing charges of aggravated assault, criminal gang activity, terroristic threats, and possession of a firearm by a felon.

Winfrey was sentenced to two years probation in October for drug possession. Cobb police have also charged him with two misdemeanors, reckless conduct and discharging a firearm on or near a public highway.
