Shortly after a warrant was issued for the arrest of Dame Dash after he failed to show up for court last month, the former Roc-A-Fella Records co-owner spoke with Dr. Boyce Watkins about his wanted status.
Dame first expressed confusion at the recent occurrences, stating that he didn’t “know what’s really going on.” He then revealed that he was unaware of any court dates and was not served any papers.
According to Dame, the lawyer in the matter, Donald Suares, helped in “strategically” separating him from his family.
“I don’t know what’s really going on…That dude, Donald Suares I guess got a warrant, because I’m in L.A. and I never got the date or the times to come back to the court,” Dame Dash said. “I never got served anything. Or whatever it is, I just wasn’t aware…He’s the piece of dog shit lawyer that strategically separated me from my family, so that he could get legal fees. And he’s representing Rachel and he’s also representing Cindy. Both my baby mothers in New York. And what he’s doing is because Rachel’s the manager of my profit, my income that I do share as profit, so I can gave it to my kids. He always know what’s going on there and he always leverages it in court for legal fees.”

Dame later spoke on being stressed about the separation from his children and also detailed the moment he realized an agreement he made verbally with his ex’s lawyer was not valid.
“Honestly, what I’m more stressed about is the separation I’m having from my children…Her lawyer called me [and] was like ‘Listen, we don’t want to go to court. We gonna settle it,’” he said. “We had an arrangement verbally. And I said ‘You sure? Cause I gotta go. I got some business—I had my class to teach in New York.’ And they said ‘Yeah.’ So, I left on a Friday. All of a sudden the lawyer goes missing. No one’s answering my calls. Ava’s gone. It’s too late for me to get back. On Monday, I try to call the court. And then they were like ‘No, we don’t have no settlement. We don’t have no agreement.’ And Rachel shows up with Ava to court. So, all these games are strategic, but I’m gonna have the patience to let it play itself out. And then we’re really gonna see. I’m gonna be an example of the system. And we’re gonna see if the system works.”
