Gangsta Boo’s on-and-off again relationship with Da Mafia 6ix (formerly known as Three 6 Mafia) is currently in a stalemate.

Boo is prepping her new solo EP – Candy, Diamonds, & Pills – and focusing on her own endeavors and family.

In a new interview with Playboy, Boo opens up about the death of Three 6’s founding member, Lord Infamous, and ending the feud with her former friend, Juicy J.

“Triple 6 is just a crazy group,” she told the men’s lifestyle publication. “We’ve been crazy since we were kids working together. Assuming you get crazier with time. Losing Lord Infamous was hard, and it brought out some awkward emotions… It is what it is.

“Everyone is just moving forward and focused on themselves and their family,” she continued.

Before his untimely death, Lord Infamous helped reunite several members of the original crew, forming Da Mafia 6ix, a revamped version of the clique he had helped found nearly two decades prior.

Although Juicy J was featured on the group’s comeback compilation, 6ix Commandments, there was still tension between Juicy and many members of the group  – Gangsta Boo included.

“I talked to him before I saw him and basically…communication rules the nation,” Boo explained. “There were misunderstandings on my part, misunderstandings on his part. We grown, so grown ups know how to move on and move forward and be positive. Keep it moving and focus on what you’ve got to take care of at this point.”

Still, Boo says she turns to Juicy’s older brother, Project Pat, for inspiration. And when she’s trying to “zone out” she says she listens to “old school Three 6 shit” and “a lot of alternative rock.”

We were ahead of our time musically and lyrically,” Boo asserts. “My sound is still out there, so strong. People request it. It helps when people still want what you’ve brought to the table, even if it’s years ago. That’s what’s helped me age gracefully in music.”
