Kendrick Lamar stopped by Los Angeles’ Hip Hop and R&B radio station Real 92.3 to sit down with the station’s new early-morning host Big Boy.

K.Dot was the first guest on Big Boy’s new show, “The Neighborhood,” since the jock made the transition from Power 106.

In addition to freestyling over the Notorious B.I.G.’s “The What” for listeners on-the-air, Kendrick spoke briefly about his upcoming untitled album and recently winning two Grammy awards.

Kendrick confirmed on the show that the album will come out on March 23. He told Big Boy –in jest – that he can’t reveal the title because “Top Dawg will kill him.”

When Big Boy congratulates Kendrick for earning two Grammy awards for his track “i,” he asks the TDE rapper why he did not attend the prestigious award show this year.

I had to turn that album in,” Kendrick explained. “I was on a deadline, on the clock.

“It’s crazy, as a kid I never thought of no Grammy,” Kendrick continued. “As a kid, writing raps that was way over my head. Just to be accomplished with any award it can be BET awards or anything, it’s a compliment to me.”
Before he left, Kendrick described the album for Big Boy and the other radio hosts. “It’s great,” he said.

Big Boy has scheduled multiple guests for his return to radio this week. Listen to Real 92. 3 via iHeartRadio here.
