View Lil Wayne’s 21 Page Lawsuit Against Cash Money Records

Following yesterday’s announcement that Lil Wayne is reportedly planning to sue Cash Money Records for $51 million, the full lawsuit for the case between the two parties has surfaced online.

Mark H. Jaffe — a lawyer who is not representing either party — posted the documents to Scribd.com today (January 29).

The lawsuit outlines the disputes between Lil Wayne and Cash Money Records, with the focal point being Weezy’s Tha Carter V album.

An excerpt from the lawsuit can be read below:

In early December, 2014, Carter delivered to Cash Money the sound recordings comprising the second of the solo albums, entitled “Tha Carter V”, provided for by the 2012 Amendment. Although obligated to pay Carter Eight Million Dollars ($8,000,000.00) at the commencement of the recording of “Tha Carter V” and Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) upon delivery of the album, Cash Money breached the 1998 Recording Agreement as amended specifically by the 2012 Amendment, by failing to pay Carter the Eight Million Dollar ($8,000,000.00) payment upon commencement of the recording and paying Carter only Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) over the course of the recording of “Tha Carter V”. Moreover, Cash Money has refused to pay Carter the Two Million Dollars ($2,000,000.00) due upon delivery of “Tha Carter V” to Cash Money. Cash Money has refused to pay Carter the balance of Eight Million Dollars ($8,000,000.00) due Carter in respect of “Tha Carter V”, despite due demand therefore by Carter.

    1. Damn I hope he wins the case and leaves with his artists.. I feel bad for Juvi tho, he just signed back with Cash Money smh. He’s gonna want to go with Lil Wayne. Now Mannie Fresh, Turk, and Tyga should get with Young Money.

      1. Maybe they can do a hot boys reunion of some sort. I know BG in prison but they could just simply go on as a trio.

    2. 8 million dollars for a record thats barely gonna sell over a million? not to mention how much promo and marketing it would have needed… somebodys on the lean again

      1. I think it’s more than that. I think it’s him being taken advantage of financially while he was on drugs, and realizing he can’t be pushed around now that he’s sober. 8 million is a bit excessive though

      2. So? If they didn’t want to give him an $8 million advance, they shouldn’t have promised him that in the contract. That’s the cost of doing business and the risk of being an owner. You get the reward in profits when something does well, but you also shoulder the risk if it doesn’t. Plenty of labels have paid out more in advances than records sold.. and plenty have screwed over artists, but few of the modern era have the track record and rumors attached to Cash money.

    3. Kudos!! Lil Wayne has finally man up after all these years… that man is not your pops thats a sucker move in the first place…M.O.B Money Over Birdman!!

      1. Wayne’s acting like some bitchy toddler over twitter. That’s not growing up. And Birdman was wayne’s stepfather. He took him in when his real parents were neglecting him. And this is what birdman gets in return?

      2. Birdman is wayne’s stepfather who took him in after being neglected by his real parents. Also, Wayne’s antics on twitter don’t show him being grown up.

      3. Nothing on Wayne’s Twitter suggests he didn’t grow up. Birdman isn’t Wayne’s father or stepfather and he stole Wayne from his parents.

    4. Shit jus got real!! Also I can’t help but to wonder about the decision by RHQ & Young Thug to remain aligned with Birdman with the previous history as well as tha current drama that’s goin on wit Cash Money even tho to their credit they haven’t legally signed any type of official deal.

      1. Of course Young Thug and Rich (My)Homie Quan are going to support birdman. They ain’t disloyal like that. It hurts for young thug too since he looked onto wayne as an inspiration. Also, Young Thug is signed with cash money and my homie Quan’s deal with cash money is almost finalized.

    5. Hey teethbitch, I read that unlike your lies, wayne did indeed have a falling out in 2004 over royalties and that wayne wanted to go with Jay Z.

    6. Wayne & Company filed a cause of action in the form of a COMPLAINT? No CLAIM??? Not the strongest move to make if your seeking compensation in the millions…Wayne’s name is in all caps too. That ain’t a good sign either. A Man at the mercy of shady ass attorneys with no liability…Yikes!!!

    7. If this is not a stunt wayne got problems baby will file bankruptcy or Wayne will have one of them Hollywood deaths that cant be solve, baby is broke all that flossin and he hasn’t been paying bills as the saying goes A Fool and his Money will soon Part !!!!!!

    8. Maybe my math bad but I’m still trying to count the other 43 million. “Carter” say he short 8 millie… 51 – 8 = 43. Is that to pay the lawyers? Note to self: send my kid to law school

      1. But how is he unloyal though? Birdman hasn’t paid him the money he’s been meant to. He’s been robbing him and keeping the money for himself. That kinda makes Baby a little more unloyal in my eyes.

    9. Lil Wyne is jealous because he no longer get much attention from Birdman. Fuck Wayne.Salute to the no.1 stunna
