Lil Durk was arrested early Wednesday (November 12) morning on yet another gun charge and now the Chicago rapper has been freed on bond. It had initially been reported that Durk would be held without bond following his arrest on a fresh pail of gun charges, but that turned out to not be the case or his circumstances changed. He took to Instagram to showcase his new found freedom, for the moment.
According to The Chicago Tribune, guns were surrounding Lil Durk at the place he was staying as both were discovered when a woman let police officers into the residence. They arrested him knowing he was a felon and had faced similar gun charges in the past.
“I got those pipes (guns) ’cause (expletive) always be tryin’ to take my bands (money),” Lil Durk exclaimed, according to officers on the scene who subsequently arrested him. Police seized a Glock .45-caliber handgun with 11 rounds as well as a Springfield .45-caliber handgun with a magazine and 13 live rounds. It is unclear if the weaponry was loaded.
Durk had previously been on probation. He was officially charged with unlawful use of a weapon by a felon. He is slated to appear in bond court this coming Thursday (November 20). The latest arrest comes just months after Lil Durk pleaded guilty to gun possession charges and declared that he would be “staying out of trouble.”

“The key word is I’ll be staying out of trouble. You can put a capital ‘N’ — for never,” the rapper told the Chicago Tribune in August.
