For the first week in months, Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” is not the #1 song on the digital R&B and Hip Hop chart. Still, Azalea manages to keep her name in the Top 10 three times for both her own music and a feature on T.I.’s “No Mediocre.” Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” replaced “Fancy” its first week on the chart, knocking the record-breaking single down to #3 in the process.
Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” Debuts At #1
Taking over fellow female emcee Iggy Azalea’s hit track its first official week on the chart, Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda” quickly sold 141,092 this week. The weeks of promotional lead-up and controversial single artwork seems to have helped the track climb to #1. Earlier this week, T.I. shrugged off any possibility of a beef between Minaj and Azalea, saying, “That’s a little more preposterous, like, ‘what the fuck?’ because they’re not even in each other’s lane.”
Iggy Azalea At #2 And #3
In it’s 23rd week on the chart, Azalea’s “Fancy” was finally dethroned and jumped from #1 to #3 this week after a 8 percent drop in sales. Still, Azalea’s newer, Rita Ora featuring single “Black Widow” held onto its #2 spot with a 6 percent jump in sales. “Black Widow,” which has sold a total of 475,061 units managed just over a 100k this week while “Fancy” dipped below that measure at 98,318. Still, Azalea can boast a total of 3,339,960 of the hit single sold up to this point.
