While appearing on New York radio station Hot 97, Slaughterhouse rapper Joe Budden took time to address the marriage proposal that was broadcast for all to see during this week’s episode of Love & Hip Hop.
Budden recalled being very nervous during the proposal, which ultimately ended with the reality star being turned down by longtime girlfriend Tahiry Jose. He also informed listeners that a lot was edited out of the proposal scene. During the proposal scene, both Budden and Tahiry are surrounded by family and friends in the middle of New York City’s Times Square.
“I’m mad that they edited so much out,” Budden said. “In the scene that I shot with my mom afterward—you know, I expressed how the answer didn’t take away from how beautiful the night was for me. With the family there. And just leading up to it. And the ring. And just wedding planning. All that was great, still… It was great for a man to do. Like when you feel that way and to actually do it, sans the ‘no.’”
During the interview, Budden immediately shot down any chances of ever being in a relationship with Tahiry again.

“No way. No way. I’m never doing that again,” he said. “That would never happen again. Ever ever ever ever.”
Although Budden’s proposal took place weeks ago, the proposal was featured on the January 20 episode of Love & Hip Hop.
“I said to you that I want my words to match my actions,” Budden said during his proposal. “That was incomplete. I want my actions to match my feelings. I want the ties that bind us together to always be stronger than those that tear us apart. I love you. I need you. I don’t want to spend another day without you. With that said, Tahiry-my-mom-didn’t-give-me-a-middle-name-Jose, will you marry me?”
Following his speech, Budden’s proposal was rejected by Tahiry who questioned the rapper’s trustworthiness.
