The Source Names “The 30 Most Anticipated Albums Of 2014”

The Source has named its “The 30 Most Anticipated Albums Of 2014.”

Kendrick Lamar’s second major-label album is the #1 album on The Source’s list. “As the success of his debut album continues to skyrocket almost 16 months after its release, fans as well as media personalities are getting antsy wondering what does Kendrick have coming up next,” The Source’s article says. “In various interviews last year, Kendrick has denied that he was working on a new project, but he revealed in his GQ ‘Rapper of The Year’ cover story that he would enter the studio in January, immediately following theYeezus tour.”

Drake recently said that Kendrick Lamar’s debut album, 2012’s good kid, m.A.A.d city, was particularly noteworthy. “The last great concept album was [Kendrick Lamar’s]good kid, m.A.A.d city—still obviously true to his life but very conceptual,” the Toronto rapper said. “Very specific stories that need to be told. I always say hats off to that album. That album’s incredible, what an undertaking.”

A solo album from OutKast member Andre 3000 is #2 on The Source’s list. “When he does rap, it’s an event,” the story says. “An Andre 3000 guest verse has become as rare as a Jay Electronica single, and the quality-over-quantity certainly works here…Andre 3000 has carefully and meticulously chosen the artists and albums on which he bestows his talent, and the dividends have never not paid off.”

The Source’s list of “The 30 Most Anticipated Albums Of 2014” is as follows.

    1. No Slaughterhouse, nothing from Step Brothers, no Czarface 2…… And some of the artists on that list are atrocious. Also, A Better Tomorrow is missing, I am pumped for that, the next Nas album, and a few others.

    2. This list is full of retards. not looking forward to any of this shit… Doesn’t surprise me that the source came up with this.

    3. How can they not lis Wu tang. or GZA and the worst part is not one person in here has mentioned them yet either but mention 50 cent who has been irrelevant for years.

      1. Pretty sure I mentioned the Wu, didn’t know GZA was releasing an album though. I want Masta Ace to drop another album too.

    9. The source has already been exposed for having biased opinions and putting on artists out of nepotism not based on actual “buzz”.. So this list is already Bullshit.. What would be more interesting is a HipHopDX.com top 30 most anticipated albums list.. otherwise this post is just a waste of journalism. #Truth

    10. 1. Kendrick Lamar
      2. Kanye West
      3. Frank Ocean
      4. Chance The Rapper
      5. Freddie Gibbs & Madlib
      6. Ab-Soul
      7. ScHoolboy Q
      8. Jay Rock
      9. Isaiah Rashad
      10. Jay Electronica (yes, I know it won’t happen)

      1. y’all boys be hurt because they don’t put your favorite rapper on the list huh… mane nobody is checking for Gibbs, his last album was weak ESLG or whatever… he should’ve stayed with Jeezy

      2. Jay Electronica is never coming out with an album so kill that dream, it’s not happening bruh… STOP IT !!!!!!

      3. jay electronica be thinkin he’s Dr. Dre or some shit. Jay Electronica fans have something great to look forward to! An album in the next 3 years and then one 10 years later!

      1. No, I understand why Nicki is number 4 on the list and it is very much true… You gotta look at it fan wise, she has more fans than Nas has stans… Nicki has over 5 million fans waiting on her album folk

    11. Yelawolf – Love Story is in a League of it’s own .. Everything else is in the rat race trying to be #1 .. the Classics are here to stay .. Just wait and see …….

    12. Where is Ice Cube’s Everythang’s Corrupt? Ran through the list twice to make sure they didn’t include the legend. Instead they put a puppet doll on 4th place. Fuck it!

      1. Ain’t nobody checking for that shit but you anyway. That nigga better stick to movies, cause his music been garbage ever since the year 2000

    13. nobody is checkin for T.I, Jeezy nor meek millz albums in 2014…and I cant believe people are waiting for a wiz khalifa album..bwhaha

    14. I honestly blame 50 for NY hip hop being dead right now. He dissed just about all of new york’s hot rappers and drove his legion of dick riding fans to basically boycott Ja, Lox, Nas, Fat Joe, Camron and even tried to sink Jay-Z’s ship. After his hype died down there was basically nothing in the spotlight but Weezy and Rick Ross. Ja may have done a song with Bobby Brown but atleast he wasn’t cuddling with a shirtless Souljah Boy on the cover of XXL.

      1. Dumb ass comment,

The only person’s career that 50 may have messed up your list is Ja. To blame one dude for messing up an entire genre of NY music is just plain stupid

      2. I’m a 50 fan but I’m an even bigger fan of Nas, the Lox and Cam’ron. I never boycotted them because 50 dissed them and I don’t think a lot of people did. It’s not like you can see a noticeable difference in their record sales before and after the beef with 50, excluding ja of course.

    15. lol, kendrick lamar looks like such a pussy

perfect poster boy for new generation of newschool bi-curious gay-friendly skinny jeans EDM rap

      1. bi-curious gay-friendlyn edm rap? please tell me one kendrick lamar song that has an edm beat? and theres wayyy more rappers out there with that bicurious stuff from macklemore to a$ap so idk how you would put kenrick as the “poster boy”. idk whats worse you blatant homophobia or complete ignorance about kendricks music

      2. ” please tell me one kendrick lamar song that has an edm beat?”

its obvious he isnt familiar when any kendrick songs other than what he hears on the radio, thats why he basing his opinions on another mans looks.. lol so who’s really gay>?

      3. i respect opinion and all, but kendrick is talented as fuck. Every kendric hater I’ve ever seen has no real “proof” or reason to hate, its usually some bullshit like what youre doin
long story short: kendrick haters are hip hops’ bitches

      4. kendrick haters tend to be white boys who dont know shit about hip hop and are mad that there mans drake aint the center of attention anymore. nothin against drake, i just feel that most of this kendrick hate is comin from people buying into the hype of this made up “kendrick-drake beef”

      5. ive seen kendrick haters come in black and white.

they call him gay and weird and a hipster even though they listen to clowns like Birdman and Rick Ross who go out of their way to put Kendrick on their songs!

      6. manfans to the rescue. this fag says a bunch of words that when put together mean absolutely nothing. you punk ass bandwagon bitches

    16. how are you guys not gonna put MOBB DEEP new album on this list???

      this list FAILS!!!

you gonna regret this list when the MOBB DEEP album comes out.

or maybe you guys just like commercial rap these days…

      1. Love the Mobb. Actually looking forward to their album more then Nas’ album. And Nas is easily the best ever hands down. With that said you nerds gotta stop bitching over a list.

      1. Google is paying 75$ per hour! Just work for few hours & spend more time with friends and family. On Sunday I bought themselves vaAlfa Romeo from having made $5637 this month.Useful site. open this link and click home tab>>>>>>>

      1. we were anticipating that album back in 2010 but its not coming so we moved on. if that lazy rappers wants to put something out before he turns 50 there might be a few people left who are still waiting for it

      1. who else’s album is more anticipated from that list? be honest with yourself…. theres no drake, em, jay-z or macklemore and kanyes last album was trash so kendrick is basically the most popular rapper left in 2014.

      2. i disagree with both of you. most anticipated album is duh kendrick no doubt. & jays album was cool kanyes album i loved. drake & macklemore irrelevant to me, i dont care much for radio trash.

    17. aint nobody checking for nicki! unless you’re a 14 yr old white girl that practices twerking in the mirror.

    18. Why are the people commenting on here always sound bitter and ignorant.

This is the list for the most anticipated albums, people need to chill. I think this list is perfect, the old school teacher’s pets might not agree.

    19. i am looking forward to 50 cent’s album. he should be on the list.

and game should not be on it. he was great but now his voice is gone. he doesn’t sound good anymore.
