Funk Volume’s SwizZz, who guaranteed that his next album is set to be released in 2014, recently spoke with HipHopDX about what he’s thankful for this Thanksgiving season.

“For my career today, I’d say I’m most thankful for my fans,” SwizZz said in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “They have really held me down. It’s no secret that I haven’t been the most prolific artist these past couple years, but in spite of the low amount of music I’ve put out, they remain loyal, understanding, and patient for my shit to drop.”

SwizZz recently echoed these sentiments during a screening for Funk Volume’s new film, Independent Living.

“My fans are really loyal,” he said at the screening event. “For the amount of work I put out, I know it’s not a lot, but they stick by me. Online, they show love. Then at the show, they show the same love that they show online. My fans are cool.”

Outside of music and his fans, SwizZz says he is also thankful for his friends and family.

“I’m most thankful for my family and friends,” he said in the more recent HipHopDX interview. “My life has truly been a roller coaster. Without their unwavering support, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

As the first emcee signed to Funk Volume imprint, SwizZz has released two projects. His first release, Haywire, was dropped with longtime friend and labelmate Hopsin in 2009. In 2011, SwizZz also released the mixtape Good Morning SwizZzle.

SwizZz appears on Hopsin’s new album, Knock Madness. SwizZz is featured on “Jungle Bash.”
