Blu and Nottz are set to release a collaborative EP, Gods In The Spirit, October 22 through Coalmine Records.

The EP is slated to include appearances from various artists, including Nitty Scott, MC, Rashad, Aloe Blacc, Sene and Johaz of Dag Savage.

Blu has released several collaborative albums, including his debut project, 2007’s Below the Heavens, with Exile and the duo’s follow-up, 2012’s Give Me My Flowers While I Can Still Smell Them

Nottz, also known as Nottz Raw, has released collaborative efforts as well, including 2012’s Allow Me To Re-Introduce Myself, with Kardinal Offishall, and 2010’s The Rawth EP with Asher Roth.

The Gods in the Spirit cover art was designed by SKAM2, who has also worked on album covers by A Tribe Called Quest, Dizzy Wright and others. “Blu had the idea of reinterpreting this renaissance painting,” SKAM2 says in an exclusive statement to HipHopDX. “So I pretty much stuck to the script and kept the same basic layout. I made the subjects darker, changed the bird to gold and made the background a stormy night sky instead of day, just to keep going in an opposite direction and make it a little more dramatic. It’s like a Hip Hop Clash Of The Titans.”
