For the second time in less than a month, Hip Hop star DMX was arrested yesterday evening (August 20) in the state of South Carolina. The Yonkers, New York native was reportedly riding passenger in a Ford F-350 pick-up truck when the vehicle is said to have made an illegal lane-change. Subsequently stopped by police, TMZ.com reports that DMX and the driver were cited for four containers of marijuana, found in the car. The rapper was arrested when it was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant for previously driving without a license.

In video obtained by TMZ (posted below), DMX is seen shouting, “This ain’t no normal traffic stop—18 cops, 5 cars, get the fuck outta here, man.”

The longterm member of the Ruff Ryders also stressed that the initial u-turn was not a traffic violation. “It was legal … they got nothing.”

DMX was subsequently taken to a nearby jail.

In a follow-up report, TMZ was told by authorities that the former Def Jam Records superstar was accused of being “very aggressive with his words and was making multiple idle threats.”

It has been reported that DMX has been released from jail this morning (August 21). However, TMZ alleges that he will be held on house arrest. DMX has residences in New York and South Carolina, but this has been the second time since July that he was arrested in South Carolina.

Domenick Nati, DMX’s publicist in recent years, released a statement conflicting with TMZ’s sources. “DMX was driving in the passenger seat when the vehicle he was in was pulled over last night. Although officers pulled them over for a minor traffic violation, DMX was asked to step outside so they can search the vehicle. Officers then claimed that they found bags of marijuana in the floorboard and arrested X. No drugs were found on DMX or the other passengers and the alleged bags of marijuana were never shown to DMX or the other passengers.” Nati however did confirm DMX’s arrested and subsequent release, “DMX was released this morning at approximately 11am EST and is back at his home in South Carolina.”
