Fans of Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz are continuing to get a glimpse into the rapper’s persona thanks to his new, video mini-series, which he also serves as executive producer of.
In the first part in the mini-series, titled “24 Hours To Live,” 2 Chainz contemplates what he would do if he only had one day to live as he touches on matters of time and even the Illuminati. And in “Sacrificing My Life,” the newly-released second part in 2 Chainz’ new series, the Based On A T.R.U. Story rapper shares the details of his encounter with professional basketball player Kobe Bryant.
“I remember meeting Kobe for the first time,” said 2 Chainz. “I got to admit that I’m fans of people myself. Like Denzel Washington, Kobe Bryant, of course LeBron. You know, I took the time just to explain to him how I use a strong correlation between me rapping like Kobe plays ball. And then I told, him I said ‘I honor and I respect you sacrificing your life to entertain us.’ And it was more or less me just basically explaining to him how I admire his work ethic.”
The rapper formerly known as Tity Boi even went on to compare his current success to that of Kobe’s. According to 2 Chainz, both himself and Kobe put in work behind the scenes and it wasn’t until recently that his hard work went noticed.

“Although I couldn’t’ see him being in the gym every day working on his left, shooting free throws, shooting jump shots, I can see the results when it was game time,” said the rapper. “I could see the conditioning. And so, for me, I feel like people didn’t see what I was doing off the air when nobody was looking. [I want to know] how hard I was working on my left hand or my jump shot or my ability to become the next rap superstar. But when offered the chance to show my talent, I think I took my opportunity and ran with it.”
