Nicki Minaj, Drake & Chris Brown Among BET Awards Winners

On top of a myriad of live performances at the 2013 BET Awards, close to 10 music-related awards were given out to a variety of acts during the three hour-long awards ceremony in Los Angeles on June 30.

TDE rapper Kendrick Lamar racked up the most awards as he took home the title of “Best New Artist” and “Best Male Hip Hop Artist” as well as “Best Collaboration,” alongside A$AP Rocky, 2 Chainz, and Drake for “Fuckin’ Problems.”

Crooner Chris Brown once again took home the fan-approved “FANdemonium Award” for the fourth year in a row although he was unable to win the title of “Best Male R&B/Pop Artist.” Miguel beat out the likes of Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake, and Usher to win that particular award.

Nicki Minaj, who performed alongside Brown at the awards show, also won big as she beat out Azealia Banks, Eve, Rasheeda, and Rye Rye for the title of “Best Female Hip Hop Artist.”

    1. You have to be 10 years old or have an IQ below 85 to watch the BET Awards. And who the hell were the female rap nominees? Rye Rye??

      1. The ONLY albums that matter coming out in 2013:

        1. Immortal Technique – Middle Passage
        2. Pharoah Monch – PTSD
        3. Jean Grae – Cake or Death
        4. Twista – The Dark Horse
        5. Tech N9ne – Something Else

    2. Someone explain how The Coup weren’t nominated for Sorry to Bother You if awards are supposed to reward quality?

      1. this isn’t about quality, nigga. it’s about who’s hot in these streets? 15-year-olds don’t know who The Coup are.

    3. nicki winning queen of hiphop and drake is king of hiphop and weezy is the legend of hiphop. YMCMB we outchea niggas

      1. Nicki’s a wack pop artist, not hip-hop, Drake is a wack R&B artist, also not hip-hop, and Wayne sucks ass and is not a legend, he doesn’t even have one classic. YMCMB are shit.
