Gucci Mane does not do a lot of interviews in 2013. Entrenched in legal battles and more than a few disagreements with Rap peers, the Atlanta, Georgia-based rapper gave a rare interview to XXLMag.com. On the heels of releasing last week’s Trap House III, the Brick Squad 1017 founder and leader elaborated on current plans. “I’m just working on my Brick Squad group album, which will drop this summer.”

With Brick Squad’s lineup ever-changing, Gucci added, “It’ll be me, PeeWee Longway, Young Thug, Dolph, and of course Chief Keef. I even got songs with Waka [Flocka Flame] on there. I’m just gonna drop a collection of all the best songs we’ve been making. I dropped a mixtape for every artist on my label, so now I feel like it’s just time to put our album together and show everybody the chemistry we got together.”

Further pressed about Gucci’s relationship with his onetime protege and Brick Squad stand-out, Gucci explained, “There was more of a miscommunication and things got misconstrued. But we got too much of a good thing. Whatever we got to work out, we always work it out.”

In March of this year, Gucci Mane publicly “dropped” Waka Flocka Flame from his label and organization via Twitter. The rapper called Waka a “disloyal lil nigga.” Waka fired back at his longtime mentor. In the days that followed, during Gucci’s two incarcerations, Waka told the press that he felt as though Gucci did little to ever help his career, and that he vowed to never do business with the man again.
