George Clinton Compares Chief Keef To Funkadelic

George Clinton found an interesting musical link. The Funk pioneer said he compares Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” to Funkadelic’s “Get Off Your Ass and Jam,” a 1975 song Clinton wrote that has been sampled by Public Enemy, Tupac and Schoolly D, among others.

“I love that record,” Clinton said of Chief Keef’s “I Don’t Like” during a VladTV interview. “[Chief Keef has] got the attitude. It’s like, ‘Shit! God damn! Get off yo’ ass and jam!’ ‘That’s that shit I don’t like,’ and they do it with such conviction.”

Clinton also discusses the extensive number of rap artists who have incorporated his work, citing the music of Public Enemy, Erick Sermon, Digital Underground, Dr. Dre and N.W.A. “[Dr.] Dre, they did the West Coast version of P-Funk,” Clinton said.

    1. With John Legend comparing Issac Hayes to Rick Ross and George Clinton comparing Chief Keef to Funkadelic, what’s next, Dr Dre saying that Tyga reminds him of his NWA days? What are they smoking? Funkadelic is Funkadelic and Chief Keef is Chief Wack.

      1. Y’all really need to start reading out these articles and not rely solely on these titles that take shit out of context. George Clinton didn’t compare Cheif Keef with Funkadelic, but Keef’s “I Don’t Like” to Funkadelic’s “Get Off Your Ass and Jam.” That’s it.
