DMX is reportedly furious about his recent appearance on Iyanla Vanzant’s television program on the Oprah Winfrey Network. X appeared on “Iyanla: Fix My Life,” a series about self-improvement, where the rapper was asked about addiction.
“Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings,” he told TMZ about his appearance on the Oprah Winfrey Network show. “That lady is toxic … My last words to her were that she can suck my dick and she still can.”
According to X, he was also tricked. TMZ reports that DMX believed he was going to be asked about an addiction to women instead of an addiction to drugs and alcohol.
Part of the interview can be seen below. In it, DMX speaks freely about his battles with drugs, alcohol and suicidal thoughts.
In the episode, DMX also reunited with his son. The two had not seen each other in over a year. They reconnected in a tumultuous conversation that included tears, arguing and yelling. “I can’t talk to you because of all you’ve done,” X’s son explained on the show. “I hope you didn’t think I didn’t love you,” X said. This portion of the interview can be seen below.
During their talk, X’s son Xavier also asked his father to be clean in order for the pair to continue having a “healthy relationship.” X rejected the idea. “I love you,” DMX explained. “I’m not gonna change for anyone.” He continued, by saying “love is unconditional.” This clip also ends with some yelling and arguing.
DMX has discussed his drug addiction in the past. He’s also discussed how his various arrests have impacted his children. “A couple of times, my children have actually seen me be arrested,” he said in 2011. In similar fashion to this recent news regarding the OWN show, X also expressed his displeasure with how he has been depicted in the media, saying, “I’m not the person the media portrays me to be.”
