Pusha T Confident That A “Cruel Winter” Compilation Album Could Have Happened

It was at the 2012 BET Hip Hop Awards that chatter of a Cruel Winter compilation album began thanks to comments made by G.O.O.D. Music  artist Q-Tip. The project never came to fruition and talk of a Cruel Winter album eventually died down, but during an interview with MTV News, Pusha T shared that he believes there were in fact intentions to create the Cruel Summer follow-up.

The Clipse rapper also revealed that he had at least 15 verses, complete with accompanying beats, lined up for such a project.

“I believe that there were intentions for a Cruel Winter. And there’s so much music floating, but G.O.O.D. Music isn’t one to just piece a project together,” Pusha explained. “I can tell you right now, I have probably 15 verses that are just over beats that are laying around wherever Ye and his hard drive are right now.”

According to Pusha T, a number of other G.O.O.D. Music rappers likely also had verses ready if there were to be a Cruel Winter album.

“And I’m sure CyHi, Sean, Cudi, Tip, everybody has either production or verses on these records as well. But I think Ye really tries to keep the brand in it, keep it up to a certain standard. And piecing together a record like that it’s just not gonna work,” said Pusha T.

Although Cruel Winter was never released, Pusha T did finally release his much anticipated Wrath Of Caine mixtape earlier in the week.

      1. kanye doesnt have a phone. have you not read any of the interviews? Everyone from big sean to justin bieber all say that kanye doesnt have a phone

    1. I can tell you right now, I have probably 15 verses that are just over beats that are laying around wherever Ye and his hard drive are right now.

AND OUT OF THEM VERSES I WONDER HOW MANY HAVE SOME COKE REFERENCES, IF DUDE IS SERIOUS ABOUT HIS ALBUM HE NEEDS TO EXPAND AND GROW

      1. He’s talking about his life, man. His friends and family are still in that coke shit back in VA. He also talks about religion, his life now, and other things.

      2. if u think pusha is just all coke talk then u havnt listened 2 pusha lately..or his new mixtape.. hell always be coke rap thats what his camp does and thats an aspect of pushas rappin i would never want him to fall back on.. but hes go many more topics..listen 2 his mixtape n others

    2. How are you confident about the possibility of something that could have happened? Pusha you need to pass that shit…..

    3. WAIT! WHAT? Nigga your mixtape sucked ass, and so do your lyrics. I dont understand half the shit you talk about. Step your lyrics UP! ……

      1. STEP YA LIFE UP NICCA..U SERIOUS? IM FROM THE WEST COAST AND BEEN ROCKIN WITH DEM VA BOIS SINCE HIM AND HIS BRO WAS COMING OUTTA THE TAR SLOW..DO THE KNOWLEGE REAL ARTIST REINVENT THEMSELVES.

    4. Swear, as much as I love G.O.O.D., they’re never on the same page. Pusha denied Cruel Winter existing back in October/November, then numerous G.O.O.D. artists confirmed it existing, then some of them said that it was never coming out, Malik said it was a movement, and then Travis Scott said a couple of days ago that it was still coming. Winter is over yet, so I guess we’ll have to see. I hope it does come out, I liked Cruel Summer but it could have been way better and less sloppily handled. This would probably rectify everything that went wrong with CS.

    5. im not usually fan of kayne.. not that he isnt good a t rapping and talented but ive always been a big fan of his production and beats and the singles and others he dropped from cruel winter were fiiiiire and took over the radios when they dropped
