Last month, Azealia Banks and Lady Gaga tweeted at one another suggesting that they were going to hit the studio. Now, the Harlem, New York rapper has confirmed that the two have laid down a song together, but it’s unclear if it will make the final cut of the pop star’s upcoming album ARTPOP.
During an interview with Capital FM, the “212” rapstress said that they knocked out a track but its destiny is unknown. “Yeah, I worked on a song for her,” she said. “I don’t know if it will make her record. I hope it will make her record, but we’ll wait and see.”
Banks has dabbled in the Pop world, recording a verse for Lana Del Rey’s “Blue Jeans (Remix)” and Scissor Sisters’ “Shady Love.” Lady Gaga has had a storied history of collaborating with rappers, appearing on Wale’s “Chillin,” and recently duetted with Kendrick Lamar on “PARTYNAUSEOUS.”
