This morning, Monday, September 3, 2012, Immortal Technique issued a statement via Twitter regarding his set at Rock the Bells. According to the New York emcee, the stage he was on was shut down due to rain over the weekend but he says he made the most of the situation. He thanked fans for their support and explained why his set wasn’t completed as scheduled. He also went on to share how he tried to make this up to supporters.

His statement from Twitter is below:

In other news, Nino Bless has released his latest mixtape, Latin Marksman 2: R.O.A.M. and he took time out to speak with HipHopDX about the tape, his message regarding Slaughterhouse and his forthcoming album.

“I completed an album a couple of months ago which is geared more towards the progressive genre but still tied in with my style so it’s not too foreign. I wanted to do something that my supporters know me for which is classic bars and hard hitting joints just having fun with it, yet still give them a glimpse into what I have coming up for my future projects,” Bless explained to DX.

He added that “They Calling” and “Bonfire,” featuring Ness Lee and Soul Khan respectively, are indicative of where he is headed now.

“Hopefully [fans] see the new direction and see I’m evolving, not changing, and if I get new fans off this so be it but I’m just doing this ’cause this is what I want to do,” he shared. “How it’s received, I truly don’t care. I like it and that’s what matters to me.”

Bless also went on to share how this tape features various types of records and concepts that fans will appreciate as a lead-up to the official album.

“I thought intro was a solid way to start the tape and to finally put the Slaughterhouse thing to bed,” he said when asked about “No Love.” “That’s the story and that’s the end. This is how I dealt with it and I’m done…I clear everything up right off rip as soon as the tape drops and then it’s on to the real fun stuff. ‘Alien Jesus,’ ‘Sad Song,’ ‘Bonfire,’ ‘They Calling’ – those are records. I could have put those on an album. What I’m doing for this album is so different from anything out and advanced from anything I’ve done. I wanted to create that bridge with this tape.”
