With the days winding down until the start of Philly rapper Beanie Sigel’s prison sentence, the State Property leader has been making the rounds in the media. Just yesterday Sigel appeared on MTV’s Rap Fix Live alongside fellow rapper Jadakiss and earlier today (August 24) he appeared on Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club to discuss his upcoming prison sentence, Roc-A-Fella, and even fellow Philadelphian Meek Mill.

Although it’s been several years since Sigel left Roc-A-Fella Records, the rapper’s distaste for the label is still quite present. During his interview with The Breakfast Club he went on to reveal that he felt used by the label during his time there.

“I was an asset. I was a commodity to Roc-A-Fella,” Sigel explained in a video posted on 2DopeBoyz.com. “Like I said people got rich off of my unique thinking out loud. And Jay made a statement, ‘Beans I ain’t tryna change you. I’mma just give you some game.’ But where the game coming from?”

On a less serious note Sigel spoke on Maybach Music artist Meek Mill who he says reminds him a lot of himself at that age.

“I love Meek man for what he doing. Looking at Meek Mill is a fun thing to do cause it’s like looking at myself coming with Roc-A-Fella at the age of 22, 23-years-old,” said Sigel. “And him the same thing with him with Ross with Maybach Music and him accomplishing what he’s doing is a good feeling. A lot of people, like when you in the mix of it and you running time go by quick. You on the road and you’re doing shows and you on tours, you don’t really get to see your career until it’s over…But me I’m blessed with being able to look at Meek Mill do his thing with Ross.”

Sigel is expected to begin his prison sentence on September 12. His upcoming album, This Time, will be released prior to the start of his prison sentence on August 28.
