Young Jeezy Named SVP Of A&R At Atlantic Records

Young Jeezy has reportedly been named SVP of A&R at Atlantic Records.

According to DJ Folk (via Complex), Greg Street announced the news on V103 last night, which he also confirmed. “[C]redit the OG Greg Street for that news,,,,it was announced on V103 In Atl A SEC ago,” he wrote. “RT @_Vaun: Young Jeezy is now the Senior VP of A&R over at Atlantic Records. Woah.”

Jizzle, who is currently signed to Def Jam Recordings, will remain on that label as a solo artist and split duties as an executive at Atlantic.

    3. What’s the point of Jeezy being an A&R if he ain’t signing NEW INDEPENDENT rappers??? Remember when Jay-Z was head of Def Jam, all he did was use Def Jams’ resources to push his own shit haha

      1. That’s bullshit…Jay signed Jeezy, Ross, Ne-yo, etc. It’s not like ppl were really checking for LL Cool J and DMX around that time anyway. He brought in a new breed of talent.

    4. Why? What’s his track record what artists has he helped blow up? Bloodraw sold 15,000 copies of his album…the only nice rapper jeezy signed is freddie gibbs and gibbs is not going to sell like that

    5. Well, William’s album dropped. We seen what his 1st week numbers were, Jeezy sold more the 1st week in addition he’s now in the corporate office at Atlantic. Can we say he won now or…

      1. You left out the fact that Jeezy’s album dropped around xmas, and Jeezy had about 283 singles to try and build a buzz.

      2. No, Rick Ross had 3 singles spinning before the album dropped. So Sophisticated Touch N’ You and Hold me back. Young Jeezy had lose my mind, all white everything, ballin, FAME, Shake life (flopped) dropped 4 mixtapes, include a damn movie and seen his album was pushed back at least 4 times due to a lack of interest from his own fan base. AND he dropped during the Holidays to help his sales. Rick Ross won. None of his singles even made it to the Billboard 100 and he still pushed about the same amount of units than Jeezy. Wait til Diced Pineapples drops and we’ll see who the real boss is

    6. Keep finding more rappers to talk about selling drugs and other things that motivate thugs to find way to get locked up. Meet the evolution of the house nigga.

    7. based on no experience and zero business acumen and mediocre output. Who gives a f**k what this dumski is gonna do at Atlantic. The new captain on a sinking ship. Welcome to the Double Wood era.

      1. sinkink ship? you crazy, right? Atlantic has MMG, T.I., Wiz Khalifa, B.o.B, Flo Rida, Gucci Mane, Bruno Mars, Christina Perri, Skrillex, Trey Songz and others!

      2. T.I., Trey Songz and Lupe Fiasco are years in the game and they will stand the test of time (at least Lupe will)

and record label doesn’t need artists that will stand the test of time, label can sign new artists every year, the hot ones who will SELL and then fell off, label can survive that way, most of them do
