Teyana Taylor Talks Signing With G.O.O.D. Music

Two days ago, Harlem singer/rapper Teyana Taylor announced that had officially joined forces with Kanye West’s G.O.O.D. Music/Island Def Jam. Now, in a recent interview with MTV, Taylor explains how the deal came about.

According to Taylor, she’s been down with the G.O.O.D. Music camp since she appeared on the song “Dark Fantasy” from Ye’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. She explained that while she was still signed with Star Trak/Interscope during those recording sessions, she made strong connections with Yeezy and company.

“I have been actually working with the G.O.O.D. Music family for quite a while since we did the [My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy] thing,” she explained. “Around the time we did the ‘Dark Fantasy’ song, I was still in my contract with Star Trak/Insterscope, and I had asked for my release because I wanted to just find myself as an artist. I had other options to go to different labels, but I felt like G.O.O.D. Music was somewhere that I wanted to be that I fit in…when I finally got my release, I released my mixtape, then I signed my contracts and here we go now…being signed to G.O.O.D. Music/Def Jam has opened more doors now that I finally have a team behind me that can push me to work harder.”

      1. yeah if that was her job, then they should send over over to that shit hole, YMCM, they’re hiring anybody for any job, and the amount of shitty lines Wayne, Tyga, and Nicki drop, Teyana would be a billionaire.

    1. No one gets dropped anymore. Everyone asks for their releases lol. Records labels are so nice these days.

    2. she got the lips of a goddess, she’ll blow a nigga harder than a crack pipe wit kool aid in it.

    3. “Records labels are so nice these days”

They even escorted her to the parking lot. It was a joyous day for Interscope. A tax write off.

thats pretty dope but dude needs more.Twista would have been fuckin excellent.Travi$ Scott would fit in perfectly.LUPE,KANYE & PHARREL should sign a one year contract with eachothers labels or what ever the fuck they do and drop the fuckin CRS(Child Rebel Soldier) group that 4 some reason still isnt here

      1. Common and GLC already left the group, but I agree with the rest of your opinion. A CRS album would be brutal, if everybody stick to his original style and sound. So please, no dubstep-Lupe, techno-Pharrell and snap-Kanye.
