Kendrick Lamar has released a few projects over the past couple of years, including last year’s lauded Section.80, with plans to drop his debut album in 2012. Having worked with Just Blaze and Hit-Boy for the project, K. Dot spoke with TheSource.com to discuss the LP and revealed that he’s finished recording it.

“That’s my debut album, it’s not really a follow-up [to Section.80]. It’s just going to have its own entity and its own space,” he said. “That’s set apart from everything. That’s my blood, sweat and tears. Something I’ve been working on my whole life, since the time I was born. It’s coming about. It’s ready right now, but I want to make sure it’s 110 percent right.”

Jay Rock, who joined Kendrick during the interview, said that the Black Hippy project has a few recorded tracks but each member is focusing on solo ventures at the moment.
