D’Angelo Announces Three International Concerts For 2012

D’Angelo has largely remained out of the spotlight over the past few years, but he’s ready to reemerge.

The R&B singer, whose last album Voodoo released in 2000, will first perform at Paris, France’s Le Zénith on January 29th. On January 31st, he will grace Amsterdam’s Paradiso for a show, with plans to round out the mini-tour at London, England’s O2 Academy Brixton on February 3rd (via Soul Culture).

Though he has popped up on a few songs over the past decade, The Roots’ ?uestlove recently revealed that he’s in the “home stretch” of completing his third album and that Q-Tip will appear on the record.

    1. I’ve been waiting to hear news of him making his return in a big way. I know he’s appeared on a few tracks, but I can’t wait to hear an album from D. I wanna hear a track by D’Angelo and Lauryn Hill again though and throw some Maxwell, Sade, Saadiq and Badu on the album too. Q-Tip being on there is all good no doubt.

      In any case good news.

    2. Once again HipHopDX is wrong! He will first perform in Copenhagen 27th of January! Would love to experience the legend live, but he wants 150$ for a ticket! Get the fuck outta here!!! No album in 10 years and this is the price! Shhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!
Nas, Busta, Ice Cube etc. etc. didn’t even set their ticket prices that high when they were over here!

    3. This is definitely welcomed news. Fact is that genre of music (And don’t dare call it R&B) needs a boost these days. Other than Erykah Badu and the sometimey Jill Scott, aint nobody really holding this genre down right now. Even Bilal have even stopped the use of the name “Neo-Soul”, even though he’s another dope brother. Bring it back D, I need some music to relax to. So called R&B today is trash man…
