French Montana was recently rumored to have signed to G.O.O.D. Music, but he’s clearing up any misconceptions about his current situation. During an interview with Hot 97’s DJ Absolut, the Bronx, New York native hinted that Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Diddy and several labels are courting him to sign to their imprints, but that he’s still a free agent.
“Shout out ot everybody who’s been showing me love. I didn’t really make a decision yet. But shout out to Jay-Z, shout out to Kanye, definitely shout out to Puff, shout out to my brother Rick Ross, shout out to Sony, shout out to Def Jam, shout out to Interscope, shout out to everybody,” he said. “I love everybody, man. I’m just trying to make the right decision and keep the music coming.”
The Cocaine City Records chief said that he’d rather just focus on the music than worry about linking with a particular shingle.
“I mean, I’m just trying to find a home. It ain’t even a bidding war because I ain’t even paying attention to it. I’m just working. I do what I do. I keep on doing it man. Shout out to everybody, man, who’s been helping with the movement,” he continued. “I don’t really make decisions on where I want to be. I just make decisions based on where I’m comfortable at. I’m like a money train. That’s what we do out here, we movin’. I just need to stay working, I just need to stay in the lab making music, at the end of the day. It’s all about the music.”
