Lil Wayne closed the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards with a raucous performance of cuts from his new album Tha Carter IV, which released at midnight on iTunes shortly after the show aired.
Introduced by Drake, Weezy kicked off with a slowed-down performance of the Detail-produced “How to Love,” flipping the script by segueing into his Rick Ross-assisted “John.” Though Rozay watched from the crowd, the Young Money chief held it down onstage on his own, strapping on an electric guitar and smashing it at the conclusion.
