Young Money Records emcee Drake spoke with MTV News last night on the red carpet to the BMI Awards. The Toronto, Ontario native revealed that was unaware of the contents of Lil Wayne‘s verse on “It’s Good” at the time of recording. Drake, along with Jadakiss appeared on the Wayne track, which is included on next week’s Tha Carter IV release.

“I just got a beat and did a verse over it,” said Drake, who won awards later in the evening. “Whatever any other individual has to say, you have to ask the man himself. I just did what I know how to do. I just got on a record. I heard the beat, did a verse and heard the final product.”
