After squashing their beef in February 2011, Wale and Kid CuDi have collaborated on the track “Focused,” set to be included on the former’s upcoming sophomore album Ambition, dropping November 1st.

During a listening session in New York City, New York, the Maybach Music Group member told MTV News that their beef grew from circumstance. “We’re 23 years old at this time, we’re trying to figure it all out,” he said. “We went from not having sh– to having money at our disposal, so it kind of f—ed up our friendship. Wale recalled an incident at Governor’s Island three years ago that he refers to as a “weird exchange,” followed by a similar experience at Drake’s birthday party. He next heard from CuDi via his 2010 interview with Complex Magazine that sparked the beef, with the G.O.O.D. Music rapper stating, “We don’t fuck with you, musically.”

The next morning, he called me like, ‘I just wanted to let you know I wasn’t high or anything when I called you. I really meant it.'”
